Guerilla Poetics Project

Sometime ago, while sitting and sharing a wee dram of Scotch, Justin told me about an idea that he and some fellow poets had come up with. They call the idea the Guerilla Poetics Project and what a great idea it is. Their mission statement of returning poetry to the people by subversively putting it into their hands is executed in such an ingenious way that I strongly advise you (writers of all types and genres) to check it out. I’m making the heady prediction that this will be a grand success.

I will be making a permanent spot in my links shortly.

Daniel,

Thank you so much for mentioning our new endeavor. I really am stoked about this idea. I know you are, too. If anybody out there likes the idea and would like to help us out (we are CONSTANTLY in need of operatives) then check out the website and the manifestos; see what we are doing, what we have to offer.

Thanks again, Daniel.
I hope your prediction is right!

Daniel, thanks for the link to that. It looks quite fun, although I guess over here if you were found out you’d get a telling off from the bookstore.

But what an interesting way to get poetry out there. As you say, subversive!

Amin says: ...although I guess over here if you were found out you’d get a telling off from the bookstore.

Which makes it all the more invigorating. smile

exactly, Daniel. invigorating and subversive.

in my contact with our “operatives” i’ve heard of a few “close calls” but not one person has been approached and told to stop. EVEN WITH PHOTOS BEING TAKEN!

this is a big endeavor, folks, and if you care about poetry, or art in general—or just subversive, udnerground-style DIY things—this is something you might want to get involved in!
