Good News For Chris Holm
I’ve never met him, but I do visit his site and you just can’t help but be excited for him with regards to this:
Yesterday, I received word that my short story The World Behind has been accepted for publication by Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go and work on my happy dance, whilst simultaneously trying not to throw up.
Man, congratulations.

i, too, know the joy of having a work accepted. and that first time is something to behold. the kicker is that every time after that is just as special.
congrats on the accepted Chris (though i don’t know ya). always nice to see a fellow writer do well.

Daniel,
Thanks for the congrats! I’ll tell you, there were about a thousand reasons I thought they wouldn’t accept the story—at 6,500 words, it’s a little long for an over-the-transom submission, the content is a touch grittier than the standard EQMM fare, ditto the language… You could have knocked me over with a feather when the news came.
Cheers,
Chris
